Process modeling of innovative design using Systems Engineering

Résumé

In the current context of increasing time-to-market pressure, innovation has been identified as the major factor of competitiveness. The need to manufacture more new products with restricted resources urges companies to perform innovative design. To be efficient and reduce uncertainty it is necessary to control the design process. In order to simultaneously control and innovate, a new model to manage the design process is required. Within the framework of Systems Engineering, we propose a static design model, which takes into account requirements related to the product, the design process and the organization. Based on this static design model, a dynamic model of innovative design process is developed. It emphasizes the importance to conciliate different requirements to produce innovative products.
