Quand la langue cause : paramètres d'une étude linguistique de la causalité
Résumé
Starting from the fact causality and linguistics are strongly related, this paper tries to understand if the language can help to better understand the notion of cause. Without any a priori definition of causality, we examine the linguistics markers that express causality and we analyse their conditions of use. The linguistic observations actually reveals some properties of the notion of cause but we show that the diversity of causal meaning subtleties cannot get reduced to a traditional typology of causes and that causality is above all a matter of human interpretation.
