Comparing corpora to identify learner-specific features of English: The case of this, that and it

Abstract

This paper addresses comparability between learner and native corpora. The objective is to improve our knowledge on the way learners make use of this and that compared with natives. The purpose is to uncover evidence of systematic variations of the forms correlated with several factors which can be of social, syntactic or semantic value.
