Computer tools and MT directly affect trainee translators. This study investigates the impact of technology on students on a Master's in Specialised Translation and Language Industries at Université Paris Diderot. We present the results of a teaching project “Website translation into English” which places strong emphasis on hands-on applications of MT. The aim of the project is to provide students with asemi-professional work experience in which they face real-life website translation problems. Students areexpected to translate and revise webpages from French into English using a professional platform SystranLINKS. The first results of our study show that a more equipped translator’s workstation results inassisted but also disrupted translation practice, and requires additional learning/teaching time. Intensivepractice of MT raises students’ awareness of the importance of a revision workflow, and gives students abroader understanding of translation quality. %G English %2 https://u-paris.hal.science/hal-02522883/document %2 https://u-paris.hal.science/hal-02522883/file/Gledhill%20%20%26%20Zimina.%202019.%20The%20Impact%20of%20Machine%20Translation%20on%20a%20Masters%20Course%20in%20Web%20Translation%20%281%29.pdf %L hal-02522883 %U https://u-paris.hal.science/hal-02522883 %~ SHS %~ UNIV-PARIS7 %~ AO-LINGUISTIQUE %~ USPC %~ CLILLAC-ARP %~ UNIV-PARIS %~ UP-SOCIETES-HUMANITES
