Session 2. Augmented corpora and pilot translation engines in Medical English: interpretation of data on complex noun phrases

Axe 2. Corpus augmentés et moteur de traduction pilote en anglais médical : l'interprétation des données sur les groupes nominaux complexes

Abstract

In this section, we discuss a method implemented in the analysis of complex noun phrases (CNP), looking in particular at the solutions proposed by a NMT system trained on language for specialised purpose (LSP) as compared to a generalist system. To do so, we rely on the preliminary results of a doctoral thesis in translation studies using a corpus of medical research articles, translated simultaneously by a generalist system and a system trained in the medical domain.
