Through qualitative interviews with men from France and Poland, the study examines the impact of the empty nest on the respondents’ lives. For some participants, the transition brings a sense of diminished opportunities for new experiences and achievements. However, others perceive the empty nest as an opportunity to pursue new passions and interests, particularly those that were previously delayed due to the demands of raising children. Some men engage in new activities and adopt different habits in response to the changed circumstances. Overall, this research sheds light on the diverse ways in which men navigate the empty nest stage, reflecting both challenges and opportunities for personal growth and reinvention.
